Bet365 Gold Cup Odds & Tips
The most important race at the Cheltenham Festival takes place on Friday. Al Boum Photo (4/1) managed to win 2019 and bring his trainer Willie Mullins a long-awaited Gold Cup trophy.
He has recently recorded a victory at Tramore, having defeated Acapella Bourgeois by as many as six lengths.
Kemboy (5/1) was in excellent shape during the last season. However, his 2019 Gold Cup appearance was not so impressive as he managed to unseat his jockey.
After that mishap, he recorded two victories at Aintree and Punchestown. At Leopardstown, he was fourth in the Savills Chase and second in the Irish Gold Cup. Both times, Kemboy lost to Delta Work.
Paul Nicholls’ Clan Des Obeaux (6/1) came fifth in the last year’s Gold Cup. However, he finished second twice and first once in his last three races.
He managed to win the King George VI Chase back-to-back, so his trainer is fairly optimistic ahead Cheltenham.
The highlight of the first day of the Cheltenham Festival is surely the Champion Hurdle. After winning in the Christmas Hurdle, a Grade 1 National Hunt hurdle race at Kempton Park, Epatante (11/4) is seen as the biggest favourite for this race.
Nicky Henderson’s outstanding five-year-old mare has all wins in her career, except for a ninth-place finish in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle last year.
Another strong favourite is Gordon Elliot’s Envoi Allen (4/1). This six-year-old gelding has a stellar record in all his hurdle races so far– three starts and three wins. His last win came in January 2020 at Naas.
After winning the Champion Bumper in 2019, this Cheveley Park Stud’s star seems to be in excellent form to record another win at Cheltenham, this time in a hurdle race.
With seven successive victories, Honeysuckle (4/1) is another mare to look out for during the 2020 Champion Hurdle. Her trainer, Henry De Bromhead, is optimistic that this six-year-old has a shot at glory.
Willie Mullins is the most successful Cheltenham trainer in history. And he has as many as three runners considered to be favourites for this race.
However, Klassical Dream (9/1), Sharjah (8/1), and Saldier (6/1) have so far lacked to show consistency.
Nicky Henderson’s Pentland Hills (6/1) has had quite a successful start of the season with three victories at Plumpton, Cheltenham, and Aintree. However, he finished fifth and second in the last two races, so he needs to step up at the upcoming Festival.
Can Altior (5/2), the winner of the Queen Mother Champion Chase in both 2018 and 2019 take the trophy in 2020, too?
This remains to be seen. After two outstanding seasons, he suffered a few setbacks that could possibly hinder him from this. His unbeaten record in hurdle races was brought to an end when he lost to Cyrname at Ascot last year.
However, his trainer Nicky Henderson has a plan that has worked before. He wants to take Altior to the Game Spirit Chase that he also won in 2018 and 2019.
After that, this duo is heading straight to Cheltenham Festival.
Another strong contender to give Altior a run for his money is Defi Du Seuil (3/1).
Hobbs’ seven-year-old gelding seems to be in excellent form for Cheltenham, with wins in the Triumph Hurdle and Golden Miller Novices’ Chase.
Nevertheless, Chacun Pour Soi (4/1) managed to defeat Defi Du Seuil in the Novice Chase at Punchestown. With Willie Mullins as his trainer, he’ll surely be one to look out for at the Festival.
Anyone watching the Clonmel Oil Chase in 2019 was left flabbergasted after seeing Douvan’s (10/1) impressive win.
Having won Supreme Novices’ Hurdle in 2015 and the Arkle Challenge Trophy in 2016, he’s no stranger to winning at Cheltenham. Can he record his third victory? His trainer, Willie Mullin, is surely optimistic.
Paisley Park’s (Evs) majestic win in the 2019 Stayers’ Hurdle was one of the highlights of last year’s festival.
Andrew Gemmell’s eight-year-old has been recording nothing but victories from October 2018 to the present day.
And the 2020 Stayers’ Hurdle is sure to bring lots of excitement with everyone eager to see whether Paisley Park, trained by Emma Lavelle, can take this trophy back-to-back.
Who his competition will be is somewhat unpredictable. Harry Fry’s If The Cap Fits (7/1) has had a solid start during his National Hunt campaign, so he is seen as a potential contender for the trophy.
He won the Coral Hurdle in 2019 but lost to Paisley Park in the Cleeve Hurdle in January 2020 when he finished in fifth place.
Eddie O’Leary’s Apple’s Jade (7/1) won the Mares’ Hurdle in 2017. Her trainer has insinuated that she could make an appearance in this race following her victory at Leopardstown in December 2019.
She left Unowhatimeanharry, Penhill, and Bacardys far behind, and won by incredible 17 lengths.
There are still no precise indications about who will enter the gates in the Ryanair Chase on the third day of the Festival.
Paul Nicholl’s Frodon (6/1) was victorious in 2019, so his trainer hopes this exceptional Thoroughbred repeats his success from last year.
He recently recorded a victory in the Grade 2 Silviniaco Conti Chase, beating Keeper Hill by 1 ¼ length.
Altior defeated Min (4/1) at Cheltenham in 2017, 2018, and 2019. But this nine-year-old trained by Willie Mullins could record his first victory at this Festival in 2020.
He has recently recorded a victory at Punchestown, winning by 2 ¼ lengths over Hardline, so if he enters the race, he’s also the one to watch out for.
Another potential contender for the trophy is A Plus Tard (5/1). This gelding was victorious in Leopardstown in December 2019 when he defeated Chacun Poir Soi by 3 ¾ lengths.
Depending on how he performs in the upcoming Dublin Chase, his trainer Henry De Bromhead will decide whether he signs him up either for the Ryanair or the Champion Chase.
Hobbs’ Defi Du Seuil (7/2) has an entry for this race in addition to having one for the Champion Chase, just like last year.
However, as soon as the Festival approaches, there’ll be more info on which race this horse will enter.

Bet365 betting markets, our review
The overall markets offered on bet365 are unrivalled by any other platform.
Down the left of their main screen you will find American football, Australian rules, baseball, basketball, bowls, boxing/mma, cricket, cycling, darts, e-sports, financials, futsal, gaelic sports, golf, greyhounds, hockey, horse racing, ice hockey, lotto, motor sports, rugby league, rugby union, snooker, soccer, specials, speedway, tennis, virtual sports, volleyball, winter sports and more.
Their horse racing markets are fantastic with the ability to choose extra places for each-way purposes, bet with the Tote and also the firm will offer money back when a horse is disqualified.
To get an extra each-way place, you will might see a horse which is 12/1 (3 places), though you can accept 11/1 for 4 places as an example.
Bet365 Cheltenham offers compliment their platform perfectly as we all want that little bit of help during the festival but above all, bet365 have got the basics right in that they offer good odds!
Bet365 Cheltenham Offers: How to bet on Desktop and Mobile
Bet365’s desktop and mobile sites simply complement each other – you will not struggle to find a deal for example when using the mobile site or the app.
The whole betting business model these days is geared towards those punting on the go and this firm truly understand this, making the mobile experience easy with quick logins and quick deposits.
Regardless of which platform you choose, as soon as you open the site all the latest action will be there. Sports are listed down the left and to make your search easier you can choose a sport, say horse racing, and make it a favourite so that it always appears at the top.
Bet365 desktop experience
Bet365 Cheltenham offers are perhaps easier to find on the desktop version of the site but other than that it has no significant advantages over the mobile versions.
Through this platform you can access probably the best and most comprehensive live streaming schedule anywhere, in fact there’s not much doubt that this is the best on the market with over 50,000 live events worldwide every year including every UK and Irish horse race.
The desktop is slick, the user experience is good and everything is very easy to find and it’s what has helped to make this firm one of the best and most trusted around.
Bet365 mobile experience
Once again your Bet365 Cheltenham offers can be accessed easily via the mobile site or the app which is easy to download on all platforms.
The mobile sites are kept very simple on the face of it but ultimately are a shrunken version of the main page and so nothing is missed out.
Click on A-Z at the top left and from there you can access offers. Bet365 Cheltenham promotions and others deals are all listed here and are simple to access.
The live streaming service is still offered here with those thousands of events listed, but more importantly the quality is there too. Viewing quality is perfect on desktop, mobile or tablet and makes the live betting experience so much better.
Mobiles sites and apps can be used on all smartphones and tablets and you can use these to access any and all Bet365 Cheltenham offers and new customer promotions.
Cheltenham betting guide: other bookies promotions
With some great Bet365 Cheltenham offers coming our way in March we can start to get excited for the festival, though there is some tough competition out there and we can take advantage of that.
Right throughout the marketplace bookies will be offering money back guarantees, odds boosts, extra places, best odds guaranteed, non-runner no bet and winning margin specials so be sure to shop around to find the best current deal for you and always check the relevant terms and bonus rules!
Cheltenham non runner no bet
Standard practice when betting on the day but not when betting ante-post is the non-runner, no bet option. If you are backing your Cheltenham Festival fancy in advance and it does not run on the big day you could lose your stake.
With a ‘non-runner no bet’ offer however you can still claim the bigger odds for betting in advance yet get your money back should your horse be pulled out of the race. This has been offered as a Cheltenham promotion by some bookmakers in the past on all races at the festival.
Cheltenham money back
A good Cheltenham offer is to give punters their money back when a horse is disqualified, something not all bookmakers do.
This works for both existing and new customers and means that when a horse refused to start when the tape has gone up for example and is classed as a runner but you have had no chance, you can claim a refund.
Other times a promo may promise to refund your money in case the horse you bet on loses by less than a length and so on so once more you may be refunded if you lose in a close finish – keep an eye on the promos page.
Cheltenham odds boost
This is a a frequent promo during festival time but one that sometimes comes with a time limit, so make sure you check the site each day!
We could do with more Cheltenham offers like this with odds on a horse which should be 2/1 boosted to 20/1 or above in big races and so it’s something we hope to see.
Many firms offer odds boosts specifically for individual customers so be sure to ask about this by contacting the firm before joining.
