Lahore Qalandars Team News
The Qalandars have had a pretty decent start to the UAE leg of the Pakistan Super League 2021. With two wins in three matches played so far, they look all but set to reach the playoffs this season.
They are tied with Islamabad United for 10 points at the top but owing to an inferior net run rate, they sit at second place. Moreover, the Qalandars lost to United by 28 runs on Sunday evening, courtesy of some brilliant batting and bowling by the Islamabad United boys.
In the preceding games, however, they did play well. Rashid Khan has been nothing short of sensational with the ball and bat. In the first-leg match against United, Khan had a heroic cameo with the bat in the final over to see his team through to the target.
In the next game against Peshawar Zalmi, he picked up five wickets to help Qalandars win by 10 runs.
Even with the bat, the likes of Ben Dunk, Sohail Akhtar, and Tim David have been quite good to help the team put up respectable totals.
Likely XI: Zaman, Akhtar, Faizan, Hafeez, Ben Dunk, Tim David, James Faulkner, Rashid Khan, Afridi, Daniyal, Rauf
Quetta Gladiators Team News
2019 PSL champions Quetta Gladiators are having themselves a season to forget. With just one win so far in the campaign, their chances of reaching the playoffs are diminishing by every game.
They would have to win their remaining three matches to have a fighting chance but unfortunately, that is a feat that looks quite difficult to accomplish for Sarfaraz Ahmed’s men.
In the Abu Dhabi leg, the Gladiators have lost to Islamabad United by 10 wickets and to Peshawar Zalmi by 61 runs.
Despite fielding a talented squad with international stars like Andre Russell, Faf du Plessis, and Cameron Delport, Quetta Gladiators have not quite managed to salvage a win yet.
With no reprieve in sight within batting and bowling, the Gladiators will need nothing short of a miracle here to beat an in-form team like Lahore Qalandars.
Likely XI: Khan, du Plessis, Weatherald, Ahmed, Khan, Russell, Nawaz, Delport, Shahzad, Hasnain, Mahmood
Venue & conditions
In the seven games played so far in Abu Dhabi, only three of them have been won by the team batting second.
The pitch seems to be favouring high-scoring innings but bowlers are calling the shots just as much as the batsmen.
Qalandars have won here batting first and second. Given the strength of their bowling, they might be comfortable in batting first and then defending the total.
Lahore Qalandars v Quetta Gladiators United Head-to-Head
The Qalandars lead Gladiators with a narrow margin of 6-5.
They have won their last four matches in a row, including the first-leg tie in Karachi this season by 9 wickets. Fakhar Zaman scored a brilliant 82 not out in that game.
Quetta Gladiators lead in the toss department by a healthy margin. However, we’re backing the Qalandars for a win here – let’s go all the way and back them to win the toss too.

Recommended Bet: Back Qalandars to win @ 1.48 with 10CRIC
Qalandars are in a good form and are fielding one of the strongest bowling attacks in the tournament with the likes of Rashid Khan, James Faulker, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Batting wise, Fakhar Zaman, Sohail Akhtar, and others have been just as instrumental in guiding Lahore Qalandars to a superb spell this season. Plus, there is sufficient cover in Mohammad Hafeez and Tim Dunk to get the job done if others falter.
Add to this their recent track record against the Gladiators and the poor form and momentum of their opponents, it becomes all the more evident why Qalandars make for a good bet here.
